I want to HIGHLY recommend a new DVD from Edwin Crozier, an evangelist that works with the Franklin church of Christ in Franklin, Tennessee -- Your 1st 10 Days As A Christian: A Daily Journey Through Essential Lessons From God's Word.
The ten lessons (one for each of your first 10 days, 10-15 minutes per lesson) are:
1. Seek First God's Kingdom
2. The Two Greatest Commands
3. Handling Temptation
4. Redeeming The Time
5. Calvinism
6. Pentecostalism
7. Premillennialism
8. Stimulate One Another
9. Getting The Message Out
10. Keeping Your Eyes On The Prize_/blockquote_
Edwin provides wonderful instruction, practical encouragement and vital warnings throughout in a tactful and caring way. The material he covers is substantial, but he avoids coming off as stuffy. He tackles obviously difficult subjects, but lovingly explains why they are important to understand, and sheds Biblical light in a way that is easy to comprehend.
The production itself is extremely well done, with a professional and very contemporary feel. Most of the Scriptures being cited appear on screen so that new Christians can easily follow along with each day's message.
To top it all off, free study guides are available for download to reinforce learning and guide group discussions.
In my opinion, along with a Bible, this DVD is one of the best things you could possibly put in the hands of a new convert. The six minute introduction, Someone Has Plans For You, is designed to be viewed on the day of your baptism. Evangelistically-minded individuals and congregations alike won't regret having a handful of these DVDs ready to be handed out on such joyful occasions.
